All opinions of Norwegian Bliss are my own.
“She’s got style and full of class, Norwegian Cruise Line’s newest cruise ship, Norwegian Bliss makes a powerful statement on your own”.
Get ready to experience her modern elegance as she embarks on a journey this summer to Alaska, Mexican Rivera this fall, and the Caribbean during winter of 2018. But in the meantime, I recently had an opportunity to meet and explore the Norwegian Bliss in person during her inaugural sailing in Miami, Florida. During my two night stay, I’ve tasted delicious authentic cuisines, enjoyed mouthwatering desserts, and sipped on refreshing cocktails throughout my stay.
There were so many wonders that I yet to explore before departing my ways on the Norwegian Bliss. Although, in only two short days, I witnessed an awarding-winning broadway entertainment show, a hysterical musical, screamed down thrilling watersides, soaked up some sunshine while relaxing in a hot tub hanging over the side of ship, danced in one of the hottest dual comedy-night club at sea, listened to live bands play, took a test-drive on the worlds largest race track at sea, enjoyed making my own margarita (it’s five o’clock somewhere) at Jimmy Buffet’s Margaritaville at Sea, watched the entertainment staff master line dancing at the pool deck and I’m just getting started!
From day one, I’ve always admired the Norwegian Cruise Line’s motto. You have the freedom and flexibility to do what you want, this is your vacation. Norwegian Cruise Line recognizes that vacations are meant for leisure time. A time to unwind, let loose and to enjoy this freedom away from everyday life.
Walking on the Norwegian Bliss in Miami gave me a burst of happiness right away. Yes, you can say I instantly fell in love and knew that she was the epitome of class and elegance right away. Not only was the Norwegian Bliss picture perfect, but she had that “crisp” new boat smell. Once on board, I went to my stateroom to check things out. I was extremely pleased with my mid-ship, mini-suite balcony stateroom. This stateroom allows up to 4 guests to sleep comfortably. Many features that I admired during my stay was the roomy balcony size, the modern bathroom decor and shower head, and the energy conserving interior room lights (by using your room card). Now that, I was highly impressed about! The Norwegian Bliss brings a whole new level of innovation.
During my stay on Norwegian Bliss, I found that if you follow the swimming fish on the carpet, the direction that you’re walking will lead you to the front of the ship. -And yes, I was lost numerous times so this tip was helpful to know. I will say, having a stateroom close to elevators, it’s extremely helpful. After a long day of swimming or off-shore activities, you’ll be happy that your room is so convenient.
Let’s talk Norwegian Bliss. I bet you didn’t know the ship facts:

What’s a vacation without delicious gourmet foods? Norwegian Bliss gives you more dining options then how many days you’ll be on board. Take it from me, discovering new foods on vacation is something that I always look forward to doing. I love how Norwegian Bliss provides more dining choices for their guests and if you have any food allergies, they are willing to do whatever it takes for you to still enjoy a great dining experience.
On deck 6 is where you will find one amazing specialty dining restaurant called Teppanyaki. I was totally blown away. The food was scrumptious and cooked perfectly to my liking. Since the Teppanyaki restaurant is Japanese cuisine, you’re going to love watching the food being prepared right before your eyes. It’s like having your very own chef. We loved it!
Another dining experience that made my taste buds go crazy was in The Manhattan Room on deck 7. This main dining room is apart of the complimentary dining plan. They serve a variety of foods and beautifully crafted desserts. My belly was happy after a taste of the surf and turf meal. My Lobster tail and a steak filet were prepared to perfection. I highly recommend that you order a caesar salad before your meal. I’m a huge fan of croutons in my salads so when I found that my salad was topped with a thin-toasted slice of bread instead of pieces of toasted croutons, I nearly did a flip. That was genius!
Do you love seafood? If so, you gotta try Ocean Blue on deck 8.
Ocean Blue is a specialty seafood cuisine restaurant that serves food inside or along The Waterfront of the Norwegian Bliss. Although I didn’t get a chance to eat there, I heard tons of great reviews about it.
Let’s talk about the Garden Cafe on deck 16. WOW! This is one amazing buffet restaurant. Trust me when I say, not all buffets are created equal. I was totally blown away on how many choices of foods that were available. There was rows and rows of authentic food choices. Garden Cafe serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Being that I travel mostly with my family, having food options is a big plus when I plan out my next vacation spot.
Buffet restaurants have come a long way. There are now so many choices for families who want a quick or self-serving meal. At the Garden Cafe on the Norwegian Bliss, you’ll find foods that will make the kids happy. Such as burgers, chicken, pizza, and french fries. For those who are looking for spice and foods with a kick, you’ll be pleased to know, you’ll find it at the Garden Cafe too! Honestly, the Garden Cafe is a foodie’s dream. There is so much food to choose from and everything tastes amazing!
For lunch or dinner try Jimmy Buffet’s Margaritaville at Sea. Oh yeah! Wasting away with a margarita in hand sounds so tempting when vacationing on the Norwegian Bliss. This specialty restaurant is where you will find burgers, salads, specialty cocktails like my favorite (“it’s five o’clock somewhere”), and live music. Nothing brings you closer to paradise than being surrounded by the music of Jimmy Buffet.
Entertainment, Bars, Lounges
Oh yes! Starbucks is on the Norwegian Bliss. Now you can grab your favorite cup of coffee or a sweet afternoon treat at sea.
COCO’S will attract anyone with a sweet tooth. This specialty restaurant caters to chocolate lovers that also includes those who love milkshakes, ice cream, and delectable chocolate desserts. You’ll also find that the chocolate is made right on the ship. How amazing is that?
Calling all wine lovers!
The Cellars is Wine Bar. Yes, you heard me correctly. There is a Michael Mondavi Family Wine Bar on board! It’s the ultimate wine experience at sea! The Cellars on the Norwegian Bliss is fully stocked with your favorite brands that you already love.
If you’re looking for an afternoon cocktail then it’s a must for you to stop by the Sugarcane Mojito Bar and try the Coconut-Pineapple Mojito. If you’re a fan of mojito cocktails then this is a place that you’re going to love. Pull up a chair, relax, and enjoy a fresh mojito day or night!
Endless Views of the Ocean
The Observation Lounge is a place to sit back and take in all the spectacular and endless 180-degree views of the ocean while sailing on the Norwegian Bliss. It’s breathtaking to see in person. Just imagine sitting and enjoying some alone time while looking out these floor to ceiling windows.
Let’s talk about the poolside frozen cocktails. Waves Pool Bar serves the best-frozen drinks to beat the heat on the sundeck. Try a refreshing Piña Colada or a frozen Margarita.
Another happening spot that I found was at the Vibe Beach Club.
The Vibe Beach Club is a place where adults can enjoy a private retreat. It also has stunning views of the ocean. I loved the oversized hot tub with private cabanas for lounging. There is plenty of space for sunbathing or wanting a drink at their full-service bar. Excellent spot to unwind and relax.
Family Fun at Every Corner
Are you ready to get splashed? The two pools on the Norwegian Bliss are refreshing and will add a whole lot of fun while on vacation. If sitting poolside during a vacation is your thing, then they have a comfortable lounge chair waiting for you.
If you have cruised before then you already know how popular the pool area can get. It’s the main attraction for most families traveling with children. If you’re staying in The Haven, your private pool courtyard has a retractable roof so when the weather outside is gloomy, you can still swim and have fun. It’s just one of many perks of staying in The Haven.
I know that my children would have an amazing time at the Kids Aqua Park. With waterslides and tons of water play available, It’s always been a great way to keep them busy and cool during our vacations. -And for those older children who seek a more thrilling adventure, then the Aqua Racer would be for them.
Who wouldn’t want to relax in a hot tub with views like this? This is one way to relax hovering over the sides of the Norwegian Bliss ship. You know something, I absolutely loved how Norwegian designed this ship. Not only thinking of safety but thinking about their guests of all ages. Having the hot tubs away from the main pool deck area is brilliant. It’s separated enough that you can still view and hear the action going on the sun deck.
You’re about to scream like you have never done before. Ocean Loops will take you over the side of the ship on this double loop thrilling waterslide experience. I will admit, I was tempted to try it but completely ran out of time to do it. Just the thought of sliding over the edge of the ship got my heart racing. It’s a thrill-seeker must try!
Are you Ready to Shop?
You don’t have to look too far when it comes to shopping for a gift or souvenir. There are plenty of shops onboard the Norwegian Bliss. Take advantage of the Tradewinds Tax and Duty-Free shopping. Be on the lookout for savings perks during the duration of your trip too!
A Close Look at the Bliss
Meet Norwegian Bliss hull artist Wyland. Wyland is a renowned marine life artist that has changed the way people think about our environment. He is devoted and dedicated as he hopes to educate a new generation of marine life conservationist. His art design “Cruising with the whales” is now featured on what is called a floating conservation canvas at sea, the Norwegian Bliss. I had the honor of meeting him and his good friend, Guy Harvey. Both men are passionate marine artists that inspiring others to preserve our oceans.
Last Minute Fun
Did you know that you can go bowling on the Norwegian Bliss? You sure can. It’s located right outside the Bliss theater.
Looking for some onboard fun that’s a great group activity? Try the ultimate Laser Tag adventure at sea! Did you know that this laser tag experience is a first for North America? Sure is. This heart-pumping experience will bring the whole family in action.
Saving the Best for Last
Ready. Set. Go.
Meet the longest competitive racetrack at sea. Jump in and let’s go for a spin on a fun 300+ yard lap on the Norwegian Bliss. These cars have four different speed settings. Depending on each driver, you can choose to press the boost button on the steering wheel to increase speed to bypass other drivers.
This is a fun 10 car race at sea. Be sure you read about the safety requirements before heading to the track as the minimum height requirement is 4′ 6″.
