From Key West to the Panhandle, one thing is for sure, there is no shortage of beautiful powder-like sand at our beaches. Our Sunshine State is ready so here are my choices for the 5 Best Beaches in Florida.
Clearwater Beach, in Clearwater, Florida was voted once again for America’s #1 beach and also one of the top 10 beaches in the world! Personally, it’s definitely one of my favorites here in Florida. This beach is known for packing in the tourists and it’s beautiful calm Gulf of Mexico green waters. If you love walking the shoreline then Clearwater Beach is a perfect spot for you. Families come and love building sandcastles together in the white soft sands.
It’s a great spot for nightly entertainment and if boat dinner excursions are your thing, be sure to stop by the marina to jump onboard and watch the sunset. There is something about watching the sun setting right from the water with a cocktail in hand.
SANIBEL ISLAND BEACHES
Whether you’re coastal visiting or vacationing, Bowman’s Beach in Sanibel Island, Florida is a relaxing destination in itself. Bowman’s Beach is one of a few area beaches that still allow barbeque grills. In fact, it’s also the best beach to park if your traveling by an oversized vehicle.
Yes indeed, this beach offers oversized parking spaces. Here you’ll find a quiet and pristine beach that caters to water activities such as a kayak or canoe launch and public restroom, changing room, and an outdoor shower.
Sanibel Island Beaches are known for the best beach to go shelling. If collecting beach shells is a must then you’ll be happy to know that Sanibel Island is made from shells. It’s not unusual to find beach shells from the Caribbean or southern seas resting along with shorelines.
HENDERSON BEACH STATE PARK
If you’re looking for a pristine beach with a high dose of nature than you’ve reached your destination.
Henderson Beach State Park in Destin, Florida has glorious views of the emerald coast. It’s a great area to watch for wildlife. At Henderson Beach State Park, it’s not unnormal to see sea turtles, dolphins, and other water species. In fact, you’ll also find that Henderson Beach State Park has been known to be a great place to bring your binoculars.
With a variety of shorebirds and other birds that migrate here, you’ll be stunned to see them in person.
SIESTA KEY BEACH
If you’re looking to bask in the sun and dust off the white-powered sand from your toes, then Crescent Beach in Sarasota, Florida should be your top pick. This family-friendly Siesta Key Beach has been recently updated with a newly expanded parking lot area.
One of the reasons why locals and vacationers chose Siesta Key Beach as their beach destination is because of its appearance, warm waters, and a great beach to unwind or read a book. There are plenty of beach sports activities too! Playing frisbee or volleyball on quartz-crystal sand makes it truly hard to pass up.
Planning on staying overnight at a local boutique motel? Check out the nightly entertainment at the local bars, or dine in one of their eateries. There is plenty of things to do when visiting Siesta Key Beach.
BAHIA HONDA, FLORDIA KEYS
Bahia Honda in the Florida Keys is where the Atlantic Ocean meets the Gulf of Mexico waters. It’s like having the best of both worlds! The Florida Keys is nestled south of Miami and Bahia Honda can be found at Mile Marker 37 on US/1. You’ll also find this massive 524 acres state park to be one of the best gathering places for groups.
Bahia Honda State Park has something for everyone. If you’re looking for a secluded area then you got it! Bahia Honda has snorkel boat tours, beach equipment to rent, marina slips, and some of the best spots for beach combing.
Whether you’re visiting the lower keys or making your way to Key West, Bahia Honda is a special spot that won’t disappoint.
Well, there you go. My 5 Best Beaches in Florida.
