It’s the middle of the Summer and if you’re still cooking on the grill, excellent me too. Nothing satisfies the appetite more than grilled foods. I just love it. For one, cooking on the grill allows me to enjoy the outdoors plus it keeps the kitchen cool and not feeling like you just walked into an oven. The last thing we want is cooking in a hot kitchen don’t you agree? One food that tastes amazing on the grill is Corn on the Cob. I will admit, cooking corn on the grill has it’s advantages too since you can grill it in different variations. How do you cook your corn on the grill? Do you shuck the corn or leave it with the corn husks on? Decisions, decisions. I know that many prefer to keep the husks on your Corn on the Cob but for this recipe, I decided…

Lately, I’ve been in a cooking rut especially since I have a lazy Summer on the brain. Honestly, the very last thing I want is cooking or preparing a meal for my family that requires me to stand in a hot kitchen for hours. I want to serve something quick and easy to make. I will admit, there is only so many hot dogs and hamburgers that one can consume in a Summers time so I’ve been thinking of new ways to cook the same ole same ole and that is when I thought of chicken wings. My husband loves them, kids will devour them and the best part, they can be cooked and served within an hour. One of my go-to recipes for chicken wings is my Foil-Packet Grilled Jerk Chicken Wings. Oh, my! These babies are so good. I love cooking them on the grill. One of…

It’s the first day of Summer and all I can think about is the Fourth of July in only a few weeks. Our independence, our freedom and how much that means to me especially as years go on. With everything around us seems to be going wrong lately, I want this upcoming Fourth of July celebration to be extra special for me and my family. That is why I decided to bake one my favorite desserts to serve them. In my eyes, nothing says let freedom ring more than my All-American Apple Pie. Yes, it might be original but no one turns down apple pie especially my family. It’s so heavenly when it’s served warm then topped with vanilla ice cream don’t you agree? My recipe is super simple and takes not much time to prepare. First, you will need a few ingredients. I purchased a package of pre-sliced…

Now that school year and classes have ended, it’s time to start thinking about Summer reading. I know for myself, this is the first year that I’m actually starting early with my children. In the past years, my kids would wait until mid-July to start reading because I always felt that they worked so hard during the school year and they needed a break to enjoy the Summer first. Now don’t get me wrong, my kids were not liking this new idea of mine especially my daughter but I knew she would like it more if we did a fun activity that went along with the story. So off we went to the bookstore.   Choosing the age appropriate book for her was not easy at first. We walked around the whole bookstore until we found something that had interested her. At first, she grabbed a few books because she…

Summer temperatures in Florida can be brutal. On any given day, our temperatures can rise up in the 90’s. Some days it gets so unbearable to be outside with the humidity and high heat index. Oh yes, it’s Hot, Hot, Hot.  Being outdoors in these climates can be dangerous to your health without the proper air quality along with keeping yourself hydrated and cool. There has been many times when my family and I have been on a outdoor activity and couldn’t wait to get home to a comfortable and cool house. Normally, our central air condition unit runs all year round except for those days in the months of February and March. During those months when it’s cold it’s not needed but you better believe, having a air conditioner is important and an necessary to have. In my large second level home, I have rooms with high ceilings so…
