“Ohio Art was first established back in 1908 when Henry Simon Winzeler started a manufacturing company in a rented band hall in Archbold, Ohio. Naming it the Ohio Art Company to reflect his lifelong interest in art”.

In 1912, the company moved to Bryan, Ohio and Mr. Winzeler became successful with his Cupid Awake and Cupid Asleep picture frames. It was in 1915 when Ohio Art entered in the toy business. As the American toy industry grew, their toy selections expanded to colorful tea sets and drums.

On July 12, 1960 is when the very first Etch a Sketch first rolled off the Bryan, Ohio factory line. Can you believe it? It’s been over 54 years!

Currently, Ohio Art offers several different brands like the Nano Block, TrendiY Art, Doodle Stretch and of course Etch a Sketch.

I remember as a child owning a Etch a Sketch. I played with it for hours on end. Trying to make those endless connecting squares or writing my name. It surely was a great childhood memory for me. I wouldn’t consider myself being an artist but trying was just as successful.

Doodle Sketch is similar to the Etch a Sketch but it allows you to be more creative with using the magnetic shapes that are included. As you know, Doodle Sketch is easy for children ages 3 and up. You have that ability to draw with using the Doodle Stylus that comes attached. By pressing down on screen, you can create and draw pictures of your favorite things or use the shapes to make a masterpiece.

My daughter started kindergarten in school this year and I’ve noticed more and more that she loves to draw and is crafty. Writing her name and practicing her numbers is something that she enjoys doing. Having a Doodle Sketch allows her practice safely with no worries of her writing with a pencil or pen. It’s very easy for her to erase since all she needs to do is move the Doodle Eraser over and it magically disappears.

The Doodle Sketch comes complete with 2 stamps, attached stylus and grab handles that are easy for children to hold on to.

One of reasons why I like the Doodle Sketch is how you can take it on the go. It allows my daughter to practice writing or drawing when traveling in the car. I like how it can be easily placed on her lap and it’s not bulky or too heavy for her.

This would be a great gift to receive for any child who loves to draw or doodle. It’s fun and allows children to use their imagination.

The Doodle Sketch retails for $27.99 and is available at your local retail store.
