Football fans, Can you believe it? The Big Game is almost here.  Did your favorite team make it through the playoff’s? Unfortunately, ours did not but that doesn’t stop us for celebrating and wanting to still enjoy what’s left to the season. For us, It’s all about having a good time, watching a competitive game with great friends and of course, delicious foods.

As for my crowd, we love simple foods. So bring on the snacks and easy to make appetizers I’d say. Even our friends will agree, when the game is on, we rather watch the game then in the kitchen making a huge meal or better yet a mess. So simple recipes always work out great. -And you better believe with my rowdy crowd, there is a lot of “shouting” going on.

Just the other day while I was out doing errands, I decided to stop by my local Walmart to picking up a few things for our playoff party over the weekend. Honestly, I was going up and down aisles trying to think of what to pick up that was simple and quick for me to make. I was in that type of mood that nothing seems appealing until I thought of my Lazyman’s Pizza Appetizers. I’ve made them before for my family and they loved them. I’m telling ya, you can’t go wrong with serving pizza at a party. -And the best part, it’s a finger food so everybody can enjoy it. I grabbed a box of RITZ® Crackers and few six packs (16.9- ounce bottles) of my favorite Coke Zero and Coca-Cola and the rest of my ingredients before heading home.

You know what’s even better, upon checking out, the cashier informed me that the 16.9 ounce bottles of Coke Zero and Coca-Cola was now priced 2 for $5.00 during this promotion. I will admit, I was happy to hear that!

Normally, my guests will walk around my house holding their beverage while watching the game. I usually don’t make a fuss about it. But I thought of a creative idea to use this awesome foam that I picked up after the Holidays. I saw the red foam on clearance for 80% off at my local craft store. At the time, I had no idea what I was going to use it for but I knew it would come handy and it sure did when making my fun DIY Football Beverage Holder or known as a Koozies.

First, you will need brown card stock paper, green foam sheets, white ribbon, glue gun with glue sticks, scissors and a pencil. I started by tracing with a pencil shapes of footballs to the brown card stock paper then cutting them out.  Next, I used white ribbon to resemble laces. For each corner of the ball, I angled the ribbon for a precise cut. You will need two pieces for each football and five one and 1/2 inches for the laces.

Once my ribbon was cut then I began to glue each piece to the football.

Next, I grabbed a bottle of Coke Zero to get the proper measurements. Since my red foam was a tad smaller, I attached a small piece of green foam to use as an extension. I placed hot glue on each side then held the pieces together. I then used green foam to cover the red foam to resemble a football field.

Next, I placed then glued the football to the middle near the top of the beverage holder to cover any red foam showing.

For this DIY Football beverage holder and for better results, using 2- inch foam is ideal. Since I couldn’t locate my desired color green in that thickness, I decided this route looked more appealing.

Isn’t this Football Koozie just the cutest? It’s safe for bottles and cans.  -And your friends will love the idea and use them proudly!

RITZ Cracker Coke Zero

Now, if you really want to show your guest who is the boss and score more points then my Lazyman’s Pizza Appetizers will do it. This finger food snack is so hard to resist. From the delicious RITZ® Crackers to the fresh mozzarella cheese balls, and sliced pepperoni. This super easy appetizer is one that will have them talking. Pair it with tomato sauce and your guests will flip after one bite.

Making these appetizers are so easy it’s silly.

Take a kabob stick and gentle push through the center of a RITZ® Cracker. I found by twisting the cracker made it easier for them to move down on the stick.

Next, grab a few pieces of sliced pepperoni then glide them down to the RITZ® Cracker. Add a fresh Mozzarella Cheese Ball then repeat the steps until your sticks are full. I’d told ya it was easy.

Now don’t these guys look so tasty. They’re the perfect game time snack to serve during the Big Game. I will admit, having these appetizer made before my guests arrived made it so much easier for me. I was able to make a bunch then place them into the refrigerator to chill before serving. In less than 15 minutes, I had a tasty appetizer that is perfect to serve and they were a total hit for my crowd.

So tell me, Will you be hosting The Big Game at your house this year?
