It’s officially the first day of summer! It’s finally here!  Most of us have waited all year for the warm weather and bright sunshine to happen. For us, Floridians, it means finding a place to keep cool. Summer temperatures here can and do get brutal. The humidity alone can really impact your outdoor activities so keeping cool outdoors is a must.

So one of the activities that I love doing in the summer is boating. My whole family enjoys it so much. Not only do we find it relaxing, but it’s an excellent way to stay cool through those hot summer days.

Boating has been something that we love doing as a family year-round. We’re pretty lucky that living in Florida brings us closer to the ocean and nearby lakes. It’s non-stop sunshine during the summer months and having an activity like boating allows my family and I to create those fun summer memories.

Have you ever wondered where to start looking when it comes to finding a local boat dealer to purchase or to rent? Oh yes, you can find boat rentals in your area too!  That’s actually what my family did just recently. We rented a Pontoon boat in Orlando, Florida. -And do you know what? Discover Boating made it so easy and convenient to find one.

Discover Boating is the best place to learn how to get on the water this summer. It’s so informative!  They make it so easy to navigate their Go Boating Today Tool. It helps you find a local boat rental, club, and more!  Purchasing a boat is a huge financial commitment. It’s something that we have wanted to do for quite some time now. One of the reasons why we love to rent boats is that we’re getting a closer look and experiencing different boats around our local area before we purchase. It’s like testing driving before you buy. We love it!

As much as we admire the ocean, boating on a lake is how we like to spend our summer days. There is something about the lake lifestyle with boating that brings a smile to our faces.  In my opinion, it’s a laid-back boating experience that can allow you to fish, sail, canoe, jetski, waterski, recharge and so much more!

There has never been a mom, “I’m bored” moment for my children. There truly is more action on a lake than any other on the water activity in our area. From nature and bird watching to keeping an eye out for those sneaky Florida alligators, boating on a lake will create new memories.

Celebrating special occasions or holidays like the Fourth of July on the water makes it the best place to watch the fireworks at night. Finding what type of boat fits your lifestyle and budget is super easy when using Discover Boating! In fact, using the loan boat calculator has been helpful to figure out the cost to an entry-level boat.

Did you know that 142 million Americans (adults and children) go boating each year? Yes, they sure do! According to National Marine Manufacturers Association, 95 percent of boats on the water (powerboats, personal watercraft, and sailboats) in the U.S. are small in size. Many measuring less than 26 feet in length. These boats that can be trailered by a vehicle to local waterways including public lakes, or oceans.
