In all honesty, I didn’t realize how preparing meals ahead of time could be such a life-changer until recently. I’ve always thought the worse when it came to weekly meal-prepping. I gave so many different excuses and reasons why I never did it before and especially since it seems so daunting and time-consuming at first. Many of my friends have tried it numerous times to get me inspired to do it but once I did, I was hooked instantly. You guys, it saves so much time. Trust me!

Preparing several meals at once and making sure that you don’t spend your entire weekend in the kitchen meal-prepping is no easy task but rest assured, once you start with a little planning, everything just falls into place. When I initially started thinking about meal prepping ideas it was to reduce time in the kitchen during the week. -And then I thought, this would be a great way for my family to eat better by adding fresh vegetables, healthy ingredients, and protein to their meals.

If you’re new to the idea of portion control, this is also a great way to start. Using meal prep recipes to help prepare your meals can be so helpful too! You’ll be amazing with a little help and practice can do.

Healthy eating can be easily started at home. With only using a few key ingredients, you’ll see instantly what a big difference it can make in how you eat for the week. For high in protein foods, my go-to must-have is Tyson® Grilled and Ready® Chicken Breast Strips.

I can not begin to tell you how many wonderful and healthy meals that I have prepared ahead of time because I used Tyson® Grilled and Ready® Chicken Breast Strips in my recipes. It certainly has given me a ” better-for-you” protein solution.

Purchasing a 3 lb bag of Tyson® Grilled and Ready® Chicken Breast Strips from Sam’s Club allows me to buy in bulk so I can make several meals out of it. I found my package of Tyson® Grilled and Ready® Chicken Breast Strips right in the freezer section at Sam’s Club. It was so convenient to shop for other ingredients that I needed while I was there too.

From saving time and money on my meal prepping needs to helping me live a healthier lifestyle.  One of the things that I admire about meal-prepping is that you don’t have to be on a diet to do it. Just being on a better eating track for lunch, dinner and breakfast can certainly help.

Chicken Taco Burrito Bowl

My recipe for Chicken Taco Burrito Bowl is one that I absolutely love to make ahead of time. It’s a great portioned meal for lunch or dinner. It’s high on protein and the burrito bowl is totally edible. I’ve had these burrito bowl molds for a while now. They really come in handy when preparing this meal but if you don’t have them, you can easily use the back of a muffin baking pan to shape each bowl.

Let’s get started.

You will need:

  • Tyson® Grilled and Ready® Chicken Breast Strips
  • Salad Mix with shredded Carrots
  • Black Beans (drained and washed)
  • Tomatoes (diced)
  • Mexican Cheese (shredded)
  • Garnished with Cilantro and Lime (slice)
  • Sour Cream (if desired)

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Take one large burrito and place it in your burrito bowl mold. Heat for 5 minutes or until the burrito is molded into shape and toasted.

In the meantime, add lettuce mixture in plastic square containers while your burrito is in the oven. Add shredded cheese, black beans, diced tomatoes, and heated Tyson® Grilled and Ready® Chicken Breast Strips. Since Tyson® Grilled and Ready® Chicken Breast Strips are fully-cooked, all I did was place them in a skillet pan to heat up. Super simple!

Southwestern Wrap

My Southwestern Wrap recipe is full of tasty ingredients. I’ll never shy away from the fact that Tyson® Grilled and Ready® Chicken Breast Strips compliments well with fresh vegetable ingredients. This is a meal in itself. You can grab a fork to enjoy it right from the same bowl.  Either way- meal prepping ideas like Southwestern Wraps are an excellent source of protein.

You will need:

  • Tyson® Grilled and Ready® Chicken Breast Strips
  • Cabbage Lettuce Mix with shredded Carrots
  • Black Beans (drained and washed)
  • Tomatoes (diced)
  • Mexican Cheese (shredded)
  • Garnished with Cilantro and Tortilla Strips

 

I’ve always prepared Southwestern bowls or wraps with a combination of different lettuces. Such as chopped cabbage and green leafy lettuce. Not only does it give this meal some texture, but it’s a nice change from your ordinary romaine or garden lettuce. -Again, Tyson® Grilled and Ready® Chicken Breast Strips can be easily heated in a skillet pan or microwave making this recipe so easy to prepare.

Begin by placing chopped cabbage and green lettuce inside your bowl. Add fresh diced tomatoes, black beans, shredded Mexican cheese, cilantro, Tyson® Grilled and Ready® Chicken Breast Strips, and strips of tortilla chips. This healthy meal would be ideal to grab and go for lunch or dinner. Roll up the southwestern chicken mixture in a burrito and you have yourself lunch on-the-go!

Spicy Chicken Pasta

My Spicy Chicken Pasta is in between a chicken stir-fry and a pasta meal. You can serve it warm or chilled. Either way, it’s a bonfire hit and doesn’t leave your stomach feeling empty. Spicy Chicken Pasta has a serious kick of spice. It’s a zing of spice that sits on the bottom tip of your tongue.

 

You will need:

  • Tyson® Grilled and Ready® Chicken Breast Strips
  • Spiral Pasta (cooked)
  • Stir-Fry Vegetable Melody

Asian Sauce

  • Soy Sauce
  • Ground Ginger
  • Minced Garlic
  • Cornstarch
  • Red Pepper Flakes

Ingredients

  • Tyson® Grilled and Ready® Chicken Breast Strips
  • One box of Spiral Pasta (cooked)
  • One pkg of Stir-Fry Vegetable Melody
  • Asian Sauce
  • Five Tablespoons of Soy Sauce
  • Two Teaspoons of Ground Ginger
  • One and half teaspoons of Minced Garlic
  • Two Tablespoons of Cornstarch
  • 1/4 teaspoon of Red Pepper Flakes
  • One Tablespoon of Vegetable oil

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, combine soy sauce, and cornstarch together. Blend well.
  2. Add ground ginger, minced garlic, and red pepper flakes to the sauce mixture.
  3. In a large skillet, add one tablespoon of vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Add Tyson® Grilled and Ready® Chicken Breast Strips and heat. Continue to stir for 3 minutes and add stir-fry vegetable melody.
  4. Cook pasta and drain water according to box. Add soy sauce mixture to pasta and mix together.
  5. Take a container or bowl, add pasta then top with chicken stir-fry.
  6. Serve warm or chilled.
