“At Bogs, we know that life is a matter of degrees. After all, we have our home in the Pacific Northwest – where a few degrees can be the difference between a snowstorm, a week of rain or a weekend of sunshine. After more than forty years in the shoe industry, we created Bogs as our solution to the all-weather boot. Since 2002, we have continued to expand our line of waterproof, durable and beyond comfortable footwear for people who work (or play) in the most uncomfortable conditions.”
“When asked for his company motto, Bogs’ founder and CEO Bill Combs reveals a lot in his answer: “Make better shoes every day. It’s a tough, never-ending pursuit.” And that’s just what we’ve been doing since we began selling boots to the farm and agricultural industry almost a decade ago. Our first boot (the iconic Classic High that’s still produced today), was a more technical, insulated rubber boot built to withstand the harshest conditions commonly found out on the ranch or inside the dairy barn. But word quickly spread about Bogs and soon people who were not farmers or ranchers started buying our shoes to wear at their cabin in the mountains or to kids’ soccer games on chilly Saturday mornings. Why? Bogs’ blend of unique performance features with high-quality materials keep feet warm, dry and comfortable.”
I have to admit after viewing Bogs Footwear website, I am highly impressed! For only being established since 2002 this outstanding company has made a staple for themselves in the footwear industry.
From their wide selections of men, women, children boots and even baby shoes this company has certainly made me feel more confidante in the choices I have when looking for quality and craftsmanship in footwear.
In the men’s category alone you will find waterproof, steel toe and work boots. You might even find it interesting to know that Bogs offers boots for hunting and hiking.
What separates Bogs from other brands is their ability to provide comfort and style in each footwear that is offered. I know from experience I can not find a pair of boots that provides my family the comfort, warmth and style together. Let’s face it, it can be challenging at times for children just to get the boots on and off. As a mom of four children, I have certainly gone through my own trials of helping push and pull just to get my childrens feet in their boots. Until now!
Bogs Footwear has a unbelievable selection on childrens shoes and boots. On their website, you will find rain boots, outdoor shoes, hiking boots and waterproof footwear like the Summit Buffao Plaid Winter Boot shown above. The Summit Buffao Plaid Winter Boot is available in color choices of black, blue, pink and purple. This style is suitable for children who wear size 7 toddler to childrens 6.
Since the Summit Buffao Plaid is a winter boot, it’s 100% waterproof. So that means through rain, snow or sleet your childrens feet will remain cozy and dry. Get this, they will even keep your childrens feet warm through those blizzard cold temperatures since they have been comfort rated at 14 degrees Fahrenheit or minus 10 Celsius. Amazing right?
With the rubber soles and plush lining for extra comfort these boots are made to be machine washable. The outer fabric is made from a jersey like feel material that can be easily folded down. The Summit Buffao Plaid Boot are lined with Bogs Max-Wick to help absorb and evaporate moisture. It’s their Dura-Fresh bio-technology that helps with those unpleasant odors too!
For a child, these would be considered a knee high style boot. It’s 10 inches in height and circumference of 12 inches. So they truly give your child the best comfort and foot room according to their size. Speaking of size, my daughter wears a size 13 and they fit perfectly on her.
Being that my daughter is only 5 years old, she surprises me every day with her love of fashion. She loves to match her clothes with colors in her footwear. Honestly, she has been like this for a few years now but hey I think it’s a good thing. She loves girly colors like pinks and purples but still admires all neutral and colors of blue. When I told her that I was given the opportunity to review the Bogs Summit Buffao Plaid Boot she couldn’t wait for them to arrive. When they did, her face lit up and couldn’t wait to place them on her feet.
My daughter wears a school mandatory uniform each day so she knew right away that the boots would not match her clothing but still insisted in wearing them. She picked out her fancy purple headband and before you knew it she was walking around strutting her stuff. Needless to say, she was extremely proud of her new boots and couldn’t wait to show them off at school. So of course as a mom I asked her “how do they feel” and if she liked them. She immediately said yes I love them! She told me at school that other students admired them as well.
For me, I truly love them myself. There are many reasons why but I can say the fact that these boots have handles on each of the sides is a major plus in my book. It really does help my daughter having them and allows her to pull the boots up by herself. I’m amazed by the lining inside of this boot. It’s super soft and plush like.
The color and style of the Summit Buffao Plaid is great. The boot contours and stretches to my daughters leg and calf size which is wonderful!
Overall, these are a must have boot for your little girl. They will keep her feet dry, warm and cozy through the winter months.
Bogs Summit Buffao Plaid Winter Boot retails for $75.00
