I will say that I’m pretty fortunate to have an extended space in my home for holiday guests. Having a separate guest suite on the lower level of my home allows my friends and family members to come and go as they please. Having privacy when they need it, and their own space to store their belongings. Personally, I wouldn’t have it any other way. Traveling during the holiday season and being away from home doesn’t always have the lap of luxury that you would have in your own home. Even if you pack your must-needed essentials, it’s still not the same. So it’s very important for me (their host) to make sure that my guests feel welcomed and comfortable during their stay by preparing for their arrival early. -And that means cleaning the whole house from top to bottom. I swear my husband thinks that I am sorta crazy when it comes to cleaning but I’d rather be prepared ahead of time and not panic minutes before their arrival
Yes, I am one of those moms that tell my children a room is off limits after I have cleaned it. Because we all know how fast a room can get messy right after it’s clean. Am I right? It’s called a vicious circle, my friends. It never fails. My kids will see me going bat crazy cleaning in a room but once I leave the room they start pulling out their toys and leaving crumbs on the carpet. I mean, hello?
But when it comes to having guests that stay in our homes, it does take extra time and of course, extra money to do it. As we all know, the holiday season is one of the joyest times of the year although, it’s also one that most of us have to budget and save for too.
That is when saving and shopping at the Family Dollar store with digital coupons comes in handy. Not only is the Family Dollar store a convenient place to shop for all your holiday entertaining needs but doing so allows me to stock up on my most important holiday essentials such as Angel Soft® bath tissue and Sparkle® paper towels.
If you’re looking for deals that won’t break the bank then Angel Soft® bath tissue 12 Big Lavender Roll and Sparkle® paper towel 6 Roll count would be priced just right! Do you want to know what else is just right? Saving on both of these household products with coupons. From now until December 27th, you can save .50 cents off each of these products by using Smart Coupons. Have you ever used Smart Coupons before? It’s so easy. Watch the video below to find out how to save with digital coupons.
When it’s time to start preparing for my holiday guests to arrive, the very first thing that I make sure of doing is finding out if we have enough Angel Soft® bath tissue in the house. It’s a must to stock up on and here is why. The last thing that you want to say to your guest is I’m sorry, I ran out of bath tissues. Oh my goodness, that would be so embarrasing. Not only would it be an embarrassing moment for your family but for your guests to know that you didn’t plan ahead. So it’s a must to stock up on bath tissue. Another great tip is to keep extra rolls of Angel Soft® bath tissue out in the open.
Secondly, make sure that you’re fully prepared for those messy moments to happen. If your guests include children you better believe there will be an “opps” I just spilled my drink or my pumpkin pie just fell on the floor accident. Hey, it’s a given with kids and even with the adults too. As parents, we know that accidents happen so just be prepared and have extra rolls of Sparkle® paper towels ready and handy.
Third, the holiday season should be joyful and clean. So right before your guest arrive, place on just-laundered sheets to their beds. Remember this is your guests home away from home so keeping their room fresh and serene is so important for a relaxing stay.
My fourth tip calls for decluttering and beyond. Make room for space. Not only for your guest bedroom but for all common areas in your home. Keep those motion-activate night lights plugged in at night and throughout the duration of their stay. Now remember, even although we could walk around our homes with blindfolds on, our guests could not. So keep it safe and lit at night.
Lastly, I always try to bring a touch of the holiday season into their room. Such as filling the room with holiday flower arrangements, and even a few holiday wrapped toiletries gifts near towels. Preparing ahead of time with these thoughtful gestures will definitely set the mood and help make your guests feel loved and welcomed.
So tell me, what are some of the ways that you like to prepare before your holiday guests arrive?
