Embarrassed about Bladder Leakage?

I know this is a sensitive subject for many women. Many of us dislike even speaking the terms of bladder leakage along our friends or family but It’s a personal health matter that concerns many women of all ages. It’s a fact that more women in there 20’s are embarrassed with bladder leakage than those in their 80’s. Unbelievable right? Being embarrassed about bladder issues can be heartbreaking for American Women. That sense of security seems to dimension each day when you’re going through it. Specially when it’s uncontrollable.

Many people associate bladder leakage with old age and that theory might be still correct although more younger women are suffering from bladder leakage after child birth. It’s one of the leading causes of bladder leakage. Being a mother of four children, I certainly can relate.

I’ve had my own experiences with bladder leakage. When I first noticed this change it was after my third pregnancy with my daughter. I guess having twins, my younger son then my daughter, my bladder decided of this change. To be honest, I don’t go through these challenges everyday but I have noticed how I no longer can hold my bladder like I use too. Specially at night. It’s definitely wakes me up and there has been occasions I almost didn’t make it.

Depend is entering year two of Underwareness, a social movement and charitable cause to break down the bladder leakage stigma. As part of Underwareness, the Depend brand is encouraging people to show their support for women with bladder leakage. For every photo and video shared using #Underwareness and featuring Depend products, the Depend brand will donate $1, up to $3 million dollars through 2016 to fund charities that advance the research and education of bladder leakage.

Not too long ago, I had a few readers send me a message privately about their current health concern about bladder leakage. Granted, I am no physician to give advice but I welcomed those concerns and made every effort to listen. Many of the questions that I received was about the Depend Active Fit product and what to wear for bladder leakage.

One of the questions was “Does wearing a Depend feel like a diaper”. My answer to my reader was absolutely not. The texture of the brief is very comfortable and non-discreet under your garments. Depend Silhouette Active Fit briefs have a lower rise for an underwear look, feel and fit. They are available in colors of black and beige (tan).
The brand Depend makes the silhouette active brief contour to your body while wearing them. You feel confident and relieved knowing you are protected during any activity.

Questions just like that, allows me to give my honest opinion about the product -Plus allows more women to open up about the embarrassment they may feel. It’s a great deal of relief knowing that you no longer have to be afraid to wear Depend. Together, we can make a difference just like Depend has with their drop your pants for underwareness movement.

Now if you have never tried the Depend brand or Silhouette Active Briefs before, here is your chance to sample them. Maybe you have concerns of a loved one instead of yourself, that’s wonderful. You can still request a free sample for them too.

You can claim your free sample by clicking on the “Get a Sample” button at the top right-hand side of the screen on the Depend website. Select which sample you would like to receive then wait for they’re fast arrival.

I have a couple of mommy friends who have this issue. I don't have it yet, but after having three kids, I'm sure it's only a matter of time.

How great that Depend is giving up to $3 million for research. I'm also impressed with their latest design! Sounds like they really listen to what women want.

I think it is a great thing that Depend is doing to bring more awareness to bladder leakage. Thanks for sharing the sample as well!

I don't have this yet (thankfully). I have some friends who do. Most of them are older than me, and with being a woman and having kids, I"m pretty sure I'll need these at some point. I'm glad to see they're making something that doesn't look like a diaper!

Nothing to be embarrassed about ! It happens to a lot of people, it's great that there is something to help people with this problem.

I am seeing a lot of Depend articles and I am sure they are succeeding in the mission to raise awareness about LBL. I have it and Kegel exercises help a lot.

These are great! Even in my early 30's, this is something that I struggle with. I am glad that they are developing new products to help!

At this point the only time I have experienced leakage was when pregnant, and I think a lot of women have as well. I do know some older gals who do experience leakage and are quite embarrassed about it so I'm happy there's things like this to help out and ease up the embarrassment for them!

I don't have a need for these at my age but I love that they are forward thinking. Dealing with bladder leakage isn't fun, but these designs make it a little easier to deal with. Nobody wants to feel like they are wearing a diaper.

I love that these come in two colors. They look just like real underwear. I wish these were around when i was pregnant.
  • Uplifting Families

I am thankful that there are products like this on the market. I get lbl when I sneeze sometimes. I did this when I was pregnant with all three of my babies. This time it didn't go away. Thankfully, it only happens from time to time and not a huge issue.
  • Lynndee

I've never experienced bladder leakage and I don't know anybody who is experiencing it. But I'm glad to know that there is this useful product to help those who are having the said problem.

It's totally gross to think about this topic, but at some point, we all need to. I totally used Depends after I had my last child.
  • Carin Kilby Clark

It's great to see that there are great options for dealing with this. I definitely had an issue right after having my kids. Thankfully it didn't last. But never know what the future holds!
  • Erin Kennedy

Love that they are giving so much money for research. I know that after having kids, that light bladder leaks can be a problem. We should have more of a discussion about this issue that more women have than maybe talk about it.
  • Sharon

I'm so glad they've done a little re-designing. After my 6th kid I realized that I should never laugh or sneeze in public unless I had a little extra protection :)
  • Ashleigh

I know someone who can use these. She is always embarrassed about the leakage but I'm so happy to see something so discrete.

I haven't experienced bladder leakage yet but I'll keep depend in mind should I experience it in the future.
