How sweet it is to be loved by me! That was my first thought when I took a bite of these amazing Dancing Deer delicious treats.
Dancing Deer Baking Company is located in my hometown of Boston, Massachusetts. If there is such a company who is completely compassionate about food, the environment and supporting their community then the Dancing Deer Baking Company takes it!
They are eager to please with their mouth watering sweets. In most cases, they promote what pleases the eye, will please the palate. I most definitely agree with that statement.
Their baked from scratch eye rolling goodies are certainly something to talk about.
Here is a peak of how this wonderful company got started.
“There were three company founders; a talented baker, Suzanne Lombardi, who originated many of Dancing Deer’s recipes, a theoretical physicist/business strategist, Ayis Antoniou, who loves to cook, and a business woman/artist, Trish Karter, whose passion is nature and the environment. All three have moved on, but many of their founding principles still remain with us at Dancing Deer.”
“Incorporated in April 1994 to provide high quality baked goods to accompany the growing market for gourmet coffee, we started out in a former pizza parlor on a busy street corner with a couple of convection ovens. Our specialty was cakes, sold primarily to cafes and restaurants. In 1996 we brought out a line of packaged consumer goods under the Dancing Deer label. Not long after that we opened the doors to passers by who demanded access and forced us in to having a small retail operation. We surprised ourselves, and a lot of other people, when we won the Food Industry’s equivalent of the “Oscars” in 1997 for our Molasses Clove Cookie. That same year, a food writer from (no kidding) Hollywood arrived at our counter looking for directions. Before we could really comprehend what was happening, Dancing Deer was on national TV being touted as making the “best cake in America”. We had managed to have a toll free number up and running within 24 hours of receiving his call, and thus our mail order business was launched. Many more awards and honors have followed.”
Recently, I had a wonderful opportunity to review some of their yummy cookies and brownies. With the holidays approaching this would be a perfect time to tell you all about their Signature Bakery Gift Assortment.
The Dancing Deer Baking Co offers gourmet gifts such as their Signature Christmas Bakery Gift Assortments during the holiday season. This is a type of gift that is thoughtful for a neighbor who might collect your mail while your on vacation, teacher’s for their dedication in teaching your children all year or perhaps a co-worker that always comes through when you need that extra help. A gift like this is something that anyone would love to receive and at any age.
The Signature Christmas Bakery Gift Assortment comes in a green decorative box that is inviting and cheerful! There are four of “America’s best” Chocolate Chunk Brownies, three gorgeous hand decorated Christmas Tree Sugar Cookies, eight “Award Winning” Molasses Clove Cookies and twelve festive Chocolate Sea Salt Star Cookies. Each cookie or brownie batch are individually wrapped with their environment friendly packaging. One of things that makes this company unique is how much detail and care they put into packaging your order. Along with the gift assortment box, I also received a special note, ingredients booklet and details when my gift was specially packed just for me; date included. I was extremely impressed with that jester although I will admit that these yummy treats didn’t last long in my household. Nothing certainly went to waste with my kiddos.
I will say that the brownies certainly made a believer out of me when that statement is made about them being “America’s best” Oh yes! I believe they certainly are. The thickness and the mounds of chocolate flavor just melts right into your mouth. They are definitely worth every bite. My next favorite would be the Molasses Clove Cookies. These cookies are super soft and the flavor of each scrumptious piece is to die for.
The hand decorated Christmas Tree Sugar Cookies are absolutely the cutest! These perfectly sized cookies with green frosting and a white swirl down the front, shows your in the festive season. If your looking for hard, tasty or crumbly cookie then this would be it.
Lastly is the Chocolate Sea Salt Star Cookie. Throw anything with chocolate in it and I am so in! I will have to admit, I have never tried a cookie with sea salt before but I honestly can say it was a nice change in taste. This cookie just crumbles right into your mouth. It’s definitely a must have with a glass of cold milk!
Overall, The Dancing Deer Baking Company certainly makes me crave for more. Their delightful treats will bring happiness and comfort to any recipient but most of all to their tummy’s!
