I’ve had the privilege to work with ALEX Toys for over the past 2 years now and Alex always seems to surprise me with their new education fun kits, jewelry and fashion kits, games, pretend play and more. ALEX  is a member of the ALEX Toys brand family. It’s also called home to many brand names that you all know and love like Slinky, Ideal, Backyard Safari, Scientific Explorer and Poof. One of the reason why I love working with ALEX Toys is their continuance to bring fun in the toys they manufacturer. They have proven to me over these years that their wonderful toys are an asset to all children young or old.  As a mom of four children, I think it’s great that they allow kids to use their imagination and create their very own ideas through playing with ALEX Toys. The ALEX brand Ideal has recently introduced me to some of their newest toys for 2014 and with the holidays fast approaching ,this would be the perfect time to tell you all about the Ryan Oakes’ Mega Magic Show from Ideal!

I’m not sure about your children but for mine they try to conquer many tricks with their special hidden magician talents. My son on the other hand certainly loves to “wow”us with tricks. Maybe it’s him being an 8 year old boy and still has a wild imagination, but I do know he really does enjoys it. It wasn’t that long ago when we visited a magic show with my family. Some of demonstrations actually surprised me and I even had that “How did he just do that” look on my face and trying to figure it out in my mind. In previous years when my older children were little, I also recall by father playing little tricks with pennies  behind their ears and trying to teach them the foam balls under the cups trick.  It certainly made my twins very curious even back then. Some of the issues that parents have with these type of kits is how they are not age appropriate. I mean of course a 3 or 4 year old wouldn’t be able to follow the directions although even some 7 or 8 year old children still have a hard time following along.  That is one of things that I really love about the Ideal Ryan Oakes’ Mega Magic Show that it is perfect for my son.

The Mega Magic Show comes included with 64 pieces and you have the ability to try 220 magic tricks. The step by step instructions were just fine for my son and I also thought some of the illustrations were helpful. In the box contains a little bit of everything to get you started. I thought that the props were age appropriate and considering the Mega Magic Show is basically for children I thought it was great.

Most of the prop pieces are small so that is another reason why children over the age of 7 should only be allowed to demonstrate. Some of the props that you will see in the box are the classic top hat, magician wand, deck of cards, ball and cup trick, handkerchief and more! I did notice that some of the props could of been made a little better since we know with children how things can easily break.

One thing as a parent that I did love seeing is how creative my son got when her performed his new tricks for us. Yet with a very serious look on his face, he meant business. It was a nice change to see him away from playing games on his tablet or video games. The Mega Magic Show has brought his imagination side out which is actually that I expected from this.

I would concern my son on the brainy side. So it really wasn’t to hard for him and he picked up the instruction book when needed. There were only a few times when he needed help but other than that he did just fine.

Overall, The Ryan Oakes’ Mega Magic Show from Ideal is quite entertaining for children and their audience. It promotes and builds thinking skills, imagination and confidence.  It’s certainly a fun activity for beginners to learn more about magic.  For more information about Ideal or Alex Toys products  please visit their website.
