Our Easter Cake!

Spread the love

Lately, I’ve been in a baking mood maybe because Easter is near and there is so many different cake or dessert recipes available.

Easter is more than a day of cooking although my children and I do have a wonderful time baking and spending time together. I have to admit, I’m not a natural born baker and normally don’t make my meals or desserts from scratch but hey my children don’t mind to say the least.

I seen this cute and easy to make Easter cake on Pinterest the other day and I figured to give it a try.

You will need a package of cake mix (any brand), a container of frosting (any desired flavor). You can certainly use two of each if you like a bigger cake.

I used two 9″ round baking pans. Bake your cake as directed and once you have finished that step give the cake some time to cool down before frosting it really does help from melting.

Once frosting the cake was complete I started placing the peeps around the cake. This was the best part for my kids. They got the biggest kick out of sticking the peeps onto the frosting.

I am sure you can select any color peeps you want but I loved how the pink, purple and yellow looked together.

I didn’t realize how much I missed eating these yummy peeps. They really have been a staple in most households over the years.

Prior to finding this recipe,  I wouldn’t of thought to put peeps on a cake but they are so much fun and it’s so easy for them to stay on the cake.

After we finished with placing our peeps on the cake we decided to place M&M’s on top to give it a finished look.

What’s great about this cake was how fast and easy it all came together. I didn’t have hours to spend in a kitchen but it surely looks like I did.

The total cost of making this cake was $9.00.

Enjoy and have fun!
