You have the good, the better and then you have BEHR. Isn’t that the truth! You might be one that thinks paint is paint or it’s all the same. I must agree that I thought that same logic but I was terribly wrong.
It’s not the same and I am happy to share with you my review and my reasons why.
I contacted BEHR to review their premium® Porch and Patio paint for my spring project this month. I decided that my project would be to paint around my deck and pool area since it needed a new clean look. We moved several years ago into our home and the last owners did not take care of it. After trying continuously to keep it clean and free from dirt by washing and bleaching, my husband and I knew eventually we would need to do more than we previously done. This meant a new coat of paint. Since our patio area is made from concrete we needed a paint that could withhold the outside elements and still give us our desired look that we needed. That is when and why we chose this particular paint.
As you can see from the pictures above these were our conditions we had to deal with. Thankfully it was only in certain areas of our patio deck but for us it was an eye sore. After a few days of cleaning those areas and preparing them for a nice new coat of paint I was ready to start painting.
Here are some examples of what I used to make things easier and neater.
- Blue Painters Tape
- Paint Roller & Stick
- Paint & Foam Brushes
Now if you never tried Behr paint before then you should be prepared for thick paint. You will not see their paint thin or even runny like other brands. You certainly do not want a paint that will smell either and Behr doesn’t do any of that at all. I must admit that I have learned my lesson from using cheap and thin paint inside my home in the past.
It took about 5 days to complete my patio area and it was so worth it. My area looks so clean, new, refreshed and bright it’s gorgeous. I love it!
It’s amazing how paint can really make an area alive and stand out.
Wouldn’t you agree?
